Wanting a promotion post here

Ok guys I understand some of you want a promotion I cannot guarranty this will happen but thier is a slight chance it will happen so you will need to post your rank and why you you think you should get promoted and what makes you qualified

Example: PFC Gonzalez(fake name so it's not for anybody in specific)requesting to be promoted to LCpl so I can become a fireteam leader and have more input on what happens. Reason why I think I should be promoted 1.I lead a fireteam to saftey while the fireteam leader was KIA I lead them to saftey with no casulites and all missons accomplished. I think I am ready and capeble of having the responsibility of having a fireteam and haveing my misson accomplished with little to no cassuilties. With this responsibility I accept and understant the task set before me and the major commitment to my fireteam they are in my care and my job to conduct a millitary manner leading them and completing my misson with little to no casulities. I understand it it is a big job and thank everyone for takeing it in for consideration

Unfortunately, Lance Corporal, that's now how promotions are given. If you read the Marine Handbook, specifically, the section denoting promotion standards, you would know that promotion consideration is awarded after meeting the minimum TIG and point requirements (as well as any additional requirements). Just because you want to get promoted doesn't mean you will.

Also, if people just told us why they thought we should promote them, then did so, we'd be taking the jobs away from the NCO's who are supposed to keep track of your TIG and write down on FitReps how many points you are awarded.
