TOGETHER WE SHALL HELP IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF TRAINING, COORDINATION, AND COHESION WITH EACH OTHER AND BRING TOGETHER A SCATTERED COMMUNITY OF MILITARY SIMULATION UNITS. Standard Operating Procedure 100-116

Purpose: This SOP is to outline the procedures related to the correct use of the “personnel file” now required for all Marines.

Application: This SOP applies to all Marines who hold the billet of Platoon Sergeant or above attached to the 13th Battalion, 37th Regiment.

General:
a. Personnel Files

(1) Will be filled out once every month or when a member is transferred out of the unit.

(2) Will include all service information, including, but not limited to: judicial history, promotion record, awards, MOS, billet, etc.

(3) Will be turned into the Company Executive Officer for review of completeness, accuracy, and neatness.

b. All Platoon Sergeants

(1) Will fill out a personnel file in accordance with the instructions on the sheet on all members of their platoon, starting with the most senior down to the most junior members.

c. All Platoon Commanders

(1) Will fill out a personnel file on their Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Corpsman, and Designated Marksman ONLY.

d. The Company First Sergeant

(1) Will fill out a personnel file on the Platoon Commanders and the Company Gunnery Sergeant ONLY.

e. The Personnel File

(1) Is used to track a Marine’s service throughout their time as members of the 13th Battalion, 37th Regiment.

(2) Is used to determine seniority, as the personnel file is an accurate reflection of time dedicated to the “Band of Marines.”

(3) Has extensive instructions on the form itself, but if unclear contact the Company Commander.
