ATTN. Marines,
Starting in September we will begin a new revamped system for training starting at the lowest and most important level; the infantry Fireteam. For now on, Fireteam Leaders must conduct training every week with the members of their fireteam on infantry-based material. This includes, but is not limited to room clearing, fire and maneuver warfare, bounding and covering, basic marksmanship, weapons familiarization (letting the Marines try different weapon sets such as the M16, M16 w/ M203, M249, etc.), and combat formations (staggered column, column, line, etc.).
Every two weeks will be squad training. This means that a training event for the entire squad will be scheduled on a bi-weekly basis. Subjects covered will be room clearing, squad movement, bases of fire, intersquad communication, squad bounding, squad covering and suppressing, and other tactics and techniques that will improve fireteam to fireteam coordination and overall squad cohesion.
Finally, at least once every month will be Platoon Training. This is where the entire platoon will get together and practice and train using the same techniques and tactics listed above and much, much more. The purpose of these events is to improve clan coordination, cohesion, and overall effectiveness.
It is the responsibility of the Fireteam Leaders to keep track of who is attending their fireteam training. It will be a requirement for promotion to frequently attend these events. Likewise squad leaders must keep track of who attended squad training and the Platoon Sergeant/Commander must keep track of who attended platoon training. Chronic absenteeism will be met with NJPs, Captain's Mast, and possibly Court-Martial after verbal counseling with your superiors has failed to produce results. We are serious about this and are not afraid to hand down punishment. We expect that all of you will do your job and work towards unit improvement.
That is all,
Captain M. Cartwright
Company Commander
P.S.: Schedule your training events in the Training Requests board of our forums. Be sure to update and maintain the threads posted. After an event, an AFTER ACTION REPORT must be filed so that the Command Staff can review it for future reference and for promotion purposes.
